HOW TO DETECT PREGNANCY IN YOUR DOG.

I have discovered that pregnancy in dog is most challenging, now I am runing a quick fix essay on how to detect pregnancy in dogs.

These are the ways to do that
1. Check for vaginal discharge. This can happen when a bitch is one month pregnant.
2. The dog's teats will become larger when she is pregnant. This will usually begin to happen between day 25 and day 30 of the pregnancy.

3.Dogs often become more lethargic during pregnancy. The bitch will spend more time resting and may appear depressed.

4. Enlarged Abdomen:
The most obvious feature of a pregnant dog is an enlarged abdomen. This will become more and more noticeable as the pregnancy continues. According to pet care company Purina, in some cases the bitch may have an increased body weight of between 20% and 55% after 40 days of pregnancy.

5. Ultrasound:
According to Purina, there are several medical procedures a veterinarian can perform in order to find out if a dog is pregnant. One of these is an ultrasound, which can detect puppies at as early as 28 days after mating. because of the low awareness and funding of vet medicine in nigeria, this method is not yet popular, this may not be due to lack of expertise but equipments)

6. Veterinarian Check
Take the bitch to be physically checked by a professional veterinarian. The veterinarian can feel for the thickening of the abdomen and lumps forming in the uterus at 21 days into the pregnancyAt 25 days the veterinarian will also be able to hear the puppies heartbeats using a stethoscope.
